A Mom After God's Own Heart

I got this book as a mother's day gift from my husband and I am reading it for almost a month now, every page is a different approach on how we should be molded as a mom. I am so blessed that I received this book in such a right time, I feel encouraged every morning!

A Mom After God's Own Heart Devotional (Elizabeth George)
We all know that behind our busy schedule, we need to find time to just be with ourselves to be encouraged and reminded, It only takes few minutes to read these devotions. Appropriate TV Channels for our Kids

Different channels has evolved in these times and it's a good thing! Remember those days when we have no choice but to wait for TV programs which are appropriate for us? Now our kids can enjoy lots of channels but our obligation must not be forgotten. Screening every show that my kids are watching is one of my responsibility, up to this day, my kids (6 and 2 years old) mostly watch Disney Junior, Nick Junior, and  babytv. Even though our eldest was recently permitted to watch some of cartoon network's show, he insisted not too as he finds a lot of violence from the shows.

A lot of us believe in the notion that if it's cartoon/animated, kids can watch it. We must think twice or thrice, responsible parenting start with this very small detail in our kid's daily lives. The effect of brutality and violence that they will see over and over from the shows will crash their innocence, sure they need to know what our world looks like but we can educate them about reality in a way that it will be beneficial to them and will not harm their young minds.

Can I leave my kids unattended while this channel is running on the TV? That is my guide question in choosing channels and shows. We have different parenting style, maybe some of you may not agree on this, I just want to share and make a difference (if possible) in our kids generation.

Enjoy watching with your kids, Happy mommying!

Silver Cross Pop Stroller

We just recently bought a new stroller for our toddler and we had a good deal on this one, they are usually selling it for S$339 but we only got it for S$199 during Mothercare's Baby Fair. I love the color and design, here are some photos...

UPside: Quite sturdy
DOWNside: The basket underneath is not not that spacious, can't put groceries when the seat
                     is inclined.

Do you also own a silver cross stroller? kindly tell us what you think on this brand?

Happy pushing!

Singapore Baby Expo

They held it 4-5 times a year, you can check the dates here. Admission is free, be sure to bring money as majority of the stalls accepts only cash for payment.

If you are new to Singapore or an upcoming parent, you will probably wonder what's in this expo, here are some photos taken during the event.

Tons of Rompers
Cord blood Banking, Insurance Packages from different companies
Diapers on bundle sale
Maternity essentials
Floor Mats
Cots/Cribs
Travel Systems
and a whole lot more...

But, does it really worth your time and energy? If you are expecting and needs a one stop shopping, I think it will be worth to drag yourself there, but if you will just go for the sake of window shopping or just to grab few items, I would suggest to visit baby stores near you instead, because usually there's a huge crowd, especially during weekends and you might want to be extra careful on your baby bump! ;)

So, have you experienced shopping at baby expo? how was it? would you recommend this event?

Avent Grown Up Cup

Training your toddler to drink on an actual cup can be a little frustrating... you cannot leave them unattended even for a second and if you did, you can't tell, it might be a spill on the floor, on the couch or worse... on your laptop. :(

I am very amazed that avent made something that our toddler can use in-between sippy cup and actual cup! No spill!

Price: S$ 18
Colours: Red, Green, Blue, Pink

Be sure to follow the instructions to assemble it correctly.

Harry Potter Inspired Birthday Party

Our son's harry potter obsession was our inspiration in preparing for his 6th birthday party, aside from watching the movie series, he also play lego harry potter. He also keeps on pretending and waving a piece of chopstick as a magical wand. He didn't insisted it, it's of course the idea of a mother and father who wants to give a memorable party to their son, we don't want to miss this opportunity because maybe next year, harry potter is not a big deal for him anymore.

Aside from the party, few days before his birthday we went to the Art Science Museum here in Singapore, great timing that the Harry Potter: The Exhibition was here.
