Apple TV Device and Remote Control

This Apple gadget gives me peace of mind that even I'm away doing some chores, the kids are safe from any unapproved shows or anything that is inappropriate for them. It helps me to escape and have a nice, not so long but not so quick shower that many of us moms are deprived.

I also use this device to crank up my speed in cleaning the house or doing some boring chores as it has tons of web radio channels.


How Does It Work?
You simply need a TV and a WiFi to use the Apple TV. It has different channels, especially if you are from the US. Currently here in Singapore these are the available channels:

How Does It Work For Us?
We mainly use Youtube to watch and play music. What we did was we set up multiple Kid's playlists under our youtube user using a laptop and then we watch and review each shows/episodes and decide if it can be added to the playlists after that everything can already be accessible on the Apple TV. Pretty awesome because the playlist will run continuously on your TV screen up to the last video that you added.

We also use Airplay, this feature lets you wirelessly stream what’s on your iOS device to your HDTV and speakers via Apple TV. It mirrors exactly what’s on your device's screen to the TV. My husband and my son enjoys this feature, controlling their game on the TV by using their iPads.

Overall Review:
It has a reasonable price, easy to use and connect. On the negative side, you need to grab the iPad and use the remote app each time you want to type or search because there isn't any keypad on the the remote that they provided. They have an onscreen keyboard but it will take time for you to type each letter using the remote. Anyways, It will not be an issue if you have an apple device.
